PowerTrip is a hard rock festival founded in 2023 that takes place in Indio, California. I set out to design a branding system that made PowerTrip feel like an already legendary festival but still felt modern and spoke to all ages of rock fans. I wanted to feature hand-drawn lettering and fun illustrations that would work well on applications of all sizes.

The system I created leans on American traditional tattoo style and the Californian desert for inspiration. The peacock-inspired color palette is a nod towards glam rock, and the lightning illustrations create high contrast and add to the powerful and electric feel. The handmade type is heavily inspired by metal rock with a thick border for added contrast. This branding system speaks to all ages, from longtime fans to new rockers.
